President - Mrs. Marian Connolly

The Bacup Nat has been without an acting President for several months now following the resignation of Mr. K Bowden. It is with the greatest of pleasure we can now announce that following our monthly committee meeting on Thursday Mrs. Marian Connolly was nominated and seconded for the role of President.

We couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this role than Marian who has devoted almost 48 years of service to the Nat since her first visit in 1974 when she came to enquire about Broadclough Dykes. As many of our members will know the Nat has been in existence since 1878 the first President being Mr. Henry Halstead and although Marian is not the first Nat President she is, in fact, the first female President in the Nat's 144-year history.
